Orthopedic technician

Stef van Rijn

Protec is the place for me where I can take the time to really get to know the customer in order to create the best possible prosthesis. At the same time, I can get to know and use innovative techniques and measuring equipment, which makes it a very pleasant workplace for me, where the customer receives the attention they deserve.

Movement trainer

Frank Dik

Since 1997, I have been training people with a leg prosthesis. In November 2018, I was able to turn this hobby into my profession at De Hoogstraat Orthopedietechniek. Together with the prosthetist and the client, I evaluate the walking technique and after that adjustments are made to the prosthesis where necessary. Walking is one of the most important activities to be socially active and what could be more beautiful than helping people experience the possibilities with just a few simple tips.

Branch manager

Ronald den Hertog

As a former Paralympic athlete and prosthetist, I know from personal experience how important it is to be able to move freely after an amputation. This journey has not only made me stronger but has also inspired me to help others in their quest. As the branch manager at Protec, I am dedicated to providing people, just as I was once helped, with a prosthesis that empowers them. I want to ensure that everyone can experience the freedom of movement, regardless of the challenges they face.

Directeur

Erwin Stokvis

Since August 2022, I have had the privilege of working for people with reduced mobility. In addition to managing De Hoogstraat Orthopedietechniek in Utrecht and Rijndam Orthopedietechniek in Rotterdam, I am also committed to Protec, where our prosthetists and technical staff dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to creating the best possible devices. Every person is unique, and so is their need for assistance. Customization is therefore a top priority for us.

Communications & marketing

Demi

What makes Protec special to me is that we truly take the time for our customers and continuously innovate to provide the best care. It’s wonderful to be able to share the inspiring stories of our customers. From a cranial helmet for a baby to a leg prosthesis for an adult – we help people of all ages. This makes my work challenging and valuable. The key is to tailor our communication in such a way that every customer and potential customer, from 0 to 100 years old, feels addressed and understood. And it is this diversity that makes my work unique every single day!

We are only happy, when you are

"I can function very well with my prosthesis. I'm doing everything again, better than I used to, because I don't suffer from that pressure spot anymore. It feels very nice with that liner. The edges are softer and I can run longer distances much better. The whole process was done carefully. I am very happy with it."

"I’ve now been a prosthesis user for half a century. For many years, I functioned quite well with my prostheses. I am a visual artist and a teacher, I lead an active life, and I have a job that requires me to stand. I’ve also always traveled a lot. However, I often suffered from sores in my groin, but I kept going. I simply want to do things and not always be focused on my prosthesis, which can limit me."

"There was no other option but to look for a counterbalance to the pain. And that’s a long process you go through. Because how do you learn to deal with such a setback? I started focusing on what I could still do, what was physically possible, what I could still enjoy. That’s how the strength to keep going was born. During that period, I learned to drive with my left leg. I’m very proud of that and happy about it!"
